It's not altruism, [Gently, and he bumps their foreheads together.] It's selfishness, because I know I'm the only one who gets this permission from you. It's possessiveness for the same. [With their foreheads still together, he opens his eyes to look directly into Goro's.]

I want you to reach a point that you're comfortable enough to trust me implicitly. Without worrying about when it'll end.

[His lips are pursed together into a small pout as Akira leans in for the further contact. There's a warm sensation in his guts, which tingles uncomfortably. Because it's both what he wants and doesn't want to hear. Akira surely knows how desperate he's for the recognition and love, while also not believing to be worthy any of it.

The conflict is reflected in his eyes as he stares back at Akira's, staying quiet for a few seconds too long before, huffing out air.]

You are setting yourself up to a disappointment.

Maybe, but that’s a me-problem.

[He shifts and kisses the tip of Akechi’s nose.] So stop worrying about my problems. You have enough of your own, I think.

Your problems are my problems. Is it not how this works? [You know, the relationship thing? After all, his current problem is very much Akira's at the moment.

Akechi turns his head to the side after the brief kiss on his nose. ]

Hurry up with the bandages. Or is it in your intentions to keep me half-naked whole night?

[His expression stays blank, but his core tenses at the suggestion. No, his problems aren't anyone else's problems but his own. Least of all Akechi Goro's, who has had nothing but problems to work through his whole life. After a moment, he smiles.] They don't have to be.

[Moving to replace the bandages, he keeps his eyes on anything but Goro's face.]

[That.. doesn't feel very fair or equal. He's not really sure how to feel about Akira being the one holding his own fortress up all by himself while also dealing with Akechi's shit. Self-sacrificing fool until the very end.

Clearly, this will not cause them any issues in the longer run.

Akechi raises his arms up and places them to rest against Akira's shoulders, giving him more room to work with the bandaid. He stays silent during the procedure and when it's done he reaches to grab the shirt Akira brought him just a moments ago.]

You'll have to deal with sleeping on your own for a bit. I assume you'll be able to handle that.

[What an unfortunate thing, to want to help someone who doesn't want help! Familiar...,]

[He smiles, regardless, even if it doesn't quite reach his eyes. He does appreciate Goro's interest, at least, and it's not that he thinks him incapable or that he doesn't trust him, he simply cannot be perceived as anything but a pillar of support. Eventually he'll eat shit and crumble, but today he's still standing.]

[He's efficient with his bandaging, and helps Goro wrangle his shirt back on, putting his lips to one of his eyebrows when he pops his head through the neck hole.] It'll be tough, but somehow I'll survive the inability to cuddle for a while.

[He sees you Mr. Hero. This is one reason why Akechi hoped he could've avoided telling Akira about this incident all together. He doesn't want to add any more burden and contribute to your downfall. Not like this.

Even though he's everything but in the mood, Akechi pulls Akira closer by his shirt to kiss him on the lips. It's wet and deep, despite being brief.]

That's all you're going to get in a while. [He murmurs against Akira's lips before pulling away.] I suppose this is the best time for you to cash out the "seeing others" card.

[Fat chance, buddy. If you two are gonna be close and intimate, Akira expects to be made privy to these sorts of things.]

[Suffice to say he's stunned into breathless silence by the kiss, and licks his lips as he's freed, idly smoothing his shirt. The second statement sits a little sour in his gut and he frowns, fidgeting with the hem of his shirt before looking back up.] You think I'm so thirsty I'd fuck around just because you're hurt?

[Akechi in turn shakes his head and rests it against his palm, folding down and closing his eyes.]

That's not it. I already told you I don't want you to hold yourself back. [a pause, then he adds] At least not because of me being weak.

Goro, [A bit firmer, and he leans upward to bonk their foreheads together.] You getting shot does not mean you're weak. You recovering from it doesn't, either.

Then what you'd call this? [He pulls away from the contact, not really in mood for physical touch.] It's hindering our lives plenty. If I can't give you what you want it's only normal to look for it elsewhere.

[He allows it, frowning.] Healing. I know you're a little less forgiving of yourself being human and all.

I don't mind waiting until you're up for intimacy.

That's stupid. What else would I be if not human. [He says, despite knowing very well what Akira means. Akechi hates the idea of being perceived as anything but perfection. Always overworking himself and overachieving to hide the cracks behind the surface.

But the latter part makes him withdraw a little. 'Idiot', he almost barks but instead settles on disapproving frown.]

Well, that'll be on you. [A huffed answer, and with that Akechi lies down on the bed and pulls a blanket all while making sure to face away from Akira.

He is, in fact, touched by the gesture.]

A blind epitome of your own concept of perfection, [He offers, quiet and not overly harsh, despite the words. He stays still when Akechi curls away from him and hunches into his blanket, sighing and smiling faintly despite himself.]
