I know that. [He hums in affirmation, allowing his eyes fall shut as he trusts in Akira's movements. Their bodies know each other so well at this place, recognizing each subtle change, being able to read each other like they're one.]

[Akira makes a wordless, thoughtful sound, and sways them around in silence for a few paces, chewing on the question.]
The thrill, definitely. The power... sometimes. [He stops there, still chewing on the idea of missing Joker's name constantly on the minds and lips of everyone in Tokyo.]
I do miss it. [Goro admits to fill in the silence. It's really no secret. While he hates the circumstances that had brought him the said power, and the routes he ended up taking. But he misses the feeling of finally having power in his own pathetic life, being able to make the difference in the world and make those in control shit their pants and grovel in front of him.. And as much as he hates to admit it, he misses the fame, too.
Then, he looks up into Akira's eyes. And smiles.]
And the chase, too. Although, [Letting go of Akira's hand he stops their dance, and brings his fingers to gently grab on the other's chin.] I'm glad that I have you now.
[Akira isn't sure how he feels about the fame aspect. Most of the attention the Thieves got had been negative, thanks to the Detective before him, and in conjunction with the misunderstood negative perception of him as Akira by most of Shujin's student body, overall he had pretty firmly decided he didn't like any sort of attention when it came to a large group of people. He hums noncommittally, continuing to sway until Goro stops them and takes his chin.]
[His hands shift and settle just below Goro's natural waist, his smile faint but thoroughly warm.] I'm glad, too.
[It had been a game of tug and pull. Both of them gained something from other's misfortunes. One would arise only on the top if other were to fall, like a seesaw. Honestly, it was the high stakes that made it so thrilling to chase after the thief. Despite the results of their cat and mouse game.
Compared to all that their current situation feels very tame and domesticated. And maybe it is the current longing for the past endeavors that has Goro move forward right here, pull Akira closer by the chin so that he can catch those lips with his own -- engulf both of them in deep kiss.
There are no toads, no mistletoe bullshit or corruption or whatsoever that he could blame on if someone inside the dance party were to glance at the balcony's direction. It's both intimate and yet so very public.]
[He knows how fussy Goro gets about PDA. He doesn't mind it, overall, because it really just gives him an excuse to be obnoxiously affectionate behind closed doors, to feel possessive of being the only one who gets to see him being sweet and letting himself indulge in positive contact. So to have him instigate in a public space, albeit quietly so...]
[He feels like a wax sculpture left outside on a summer day, like his whole body is melting from fond warmth.]
[He returns the kiss after the initial shock of it wears off, squeezing Goro's hips gently.]
[Goro breaths deep in through his nose, taking in Akira's scent as he keeps pressing their mouths together. To make this even more bold, he pushes his tongue against Akira's lower lip daring the other other to grant him access to go further.]
[He can't help the way he smiles as he parts his lips, exhaling on a chuckle and sliding his hands up Goro's sides. You're digging your own grave here, Goro, because there's no way he's gonna let you get away with refusing PDA now that you've instigated it.]
[Surprisingly enough, the touch isn't unwelcomed one. Goro's own arm wraps more tightly around Akira's waist and pushes them back, until they meed the railing again.
It hasn't even been a year since they were positioned like this last time. Goro pushing forward as Akira leans on the railing. But unlike then, when Goro had been terrified of the physical contact, felt angered drunken implications of the affection in the air and decides to retaliate the best way he knew how to.
But this time he's holding Akira tight and against him, deepening the kiss as his tongue pushes back the soft lips, seeking the more contact and heat. There are no lakes to be thrown into. Not this time.]
[Akira can't really be blamed for being a little nervous about it-- it's probably not the same railing, and there is possibly no lake below them, but that would also mean there's no water to break his fall if Goro pushes him over again. But... Well, ten months has been kind to them if only in this way, and Akira relaxes against the rail behind him as Goro overtakes his mouth. He lets his hands trail to his back skims his fingertips along his spine, reciprocating but only enough that Goro knows he's interested. He's letting him run the show, at present.]
[The gloved fingers lets go of Akira's chin, and slide along with the sharp jawline all the way to the back of his neck. His own upper body pressing hard against the others. As in to reassure that if they fall they fall together.
Goro keeps kissing and sucking Akira's mouth with a fervor, gulping him down as if he was man dying of the thirst. The sweetest nectar.
But eventually even he needs catch proper breath. With a soft and wet sound he pulls away, lips red and swollen from their makeout session. Hooded red eyes look up to Akira, a slight gleam shining in them.]
[Akira chuckles softly when Goro finally draws back, flushed to the collar of his shirt but surprisingly not using the makeout sesh as a means to move toward getting sexy. He lets his arms fall crossed to the small of Akechi's back and just smiles at him, bent slightly backward over the railing from his height with his stupid heels on.]
Wasn't expecting you to try 'n eat me alive tonight.
Hah-ah. [Goro can't stop a small laughter bubbling from his chest as he looks up to Akira. Suddenly he feels so light, and that if he were to do as much as raise to his tiptoes he would just end up flying off. Had Akira somehow drugged him? Because this is ridiculous.
Even he can feel in his chest that this moment is precious. Something that is almost frail and needs to be protected. One wrong move and--]
Akira. [He says again, pressing their foreheads together and closing his eyes.] Akira. It's your turn. Kiss me.
[With his lips pursed together he meets the brief pecks on, each time trying to push for more. There is an insatiable flame within Goro, one that is about burst out of control and burn him into the crisp.]
Loser. [He pouts against Akira's lips, whining a little.]
Shut up. [He huffs air out and tilts his head back to create small stretching the bite on his lip, enjoying the small sting] I call you whatever I want.
Loser. Idiot. Criminal. Asshole. [His fingers twirl around Akira's curls along with each 'insult', pulling the hair.] Mine.
[Akira releases Goro's lip when he starts pulling his hair, grinning just a touch sharper at each insult until he claims "mine". The smile then shows teeth and immediately becomes fond, and his arms circle Goro's ribs to pull him close again.] Guilty as charged, in all respects.
[The long fingers lets go of the hair and spread to cup the back of Akira's head. The grin on his lips keeps just widening, until he can't help but show him some of his teeth. Not exactly picture perfect idol smile that he had practiced so hard. It's more eager and just a tad bit dorky.
Goro leans back in, ready to press in their lips back together now that their bodies are back to being glued together. Just when he reaches the soft and plumb lips a sudden loud laughter comes from somewhere behind them, as some of the party guests come to hang around the entrance of the balcony.
And yeah, that breaks the spell. A hot red embarrassment flushes over Goro's cheeks, making him pull away slightly and dropping his hands on Akira's shoulders.]
[Akira only looks up to the rowdy group near the entryway because Goro gets embarrassed, and for a brief moment his gaze is molten fury. It's gone likely before Goro can even register it, as he looks down to Goro instead, hardened features immediately softening. He releases his grasp of him, reaching up instead to fix his hair and taking a calculated, but small step backward. That way, if any of the group look out to them, the gesture is easily brushed off as simply friendly.]
[Akira wasn't entirely sure why Goro was still so shy about them being perceived in public, but he planned to respect it in hopes one day he won't mind as much.] You wanna ditch this candy stand?
[It is silly and Goro knows it, he feels silly at least. It's not really in his intentions to hide Akira or their relationship but he still feels uncomfortable being seen like this. Even during his days as a well-loved celebrity he worked hard to keep some things of himself hidden.
Nodding slightly Goro steps to the side, walking back to the railing and picking up his discarded mask and drink.]
..In a bit yes. [He agrees, sitting on the edge as he sips the leftovers of his drink.] I'd like to listen to the music for a while. But I think I've had enough of the dancing for tonight.
[Akira watches him, smiling with his back turned to the raucous partygoers, letting his world shrink down to just the two of them. He steps over and sits near him, but not too close-- a companionable distance, and closes his eyes to listen.]
...makes you miss Jazz Jin, yeah? What a great little spot.
A little, yes. [Goro admits. Jazz Jin was the only place in Tokyo aside from his barren apartment where he felt like he could breathe, and be himself. As much as he hates to admit he even misses the snarky barkeeper Muhen. Perhaps the only person aside from Akira he could feel comfortable to be around. ]
Lupin is great too, don't make a mistake about that. Now if you only could get a live performance there it'd be perfect. [He turns to look at Akira and grins a bit, placing his empty glass between them on the railing. He, too, closes his eyes and falls silent listening to the band playing in the background, allowing himself to be soothed by the music.
The song finishes and it seems like the band is taking a break.]
....Dazai-san is gone. [He says eventually, breaking the silence between them. The man's disappearance was an obvious thing. Yet neither of them had really mentioned it before.]
[Akira's smile pulls wider at Goro's admission, and his whole expression and posture soften when he goes on to say Lupin is also great. He's about to say he'll see what he can do about a live performance when--]
[--well. Obviously, given Dazai owned Lupin and had hired him, Akira knew he was gone. He'd intentionally neglected to say anything about it. He feels his face get a little warm with a strange sense of shame for having done so, and his smile fades.] ...yeah. [How did one go about a loss like Osamu Dazai? The man romanticized suicide like it was his greatest wish, but suggesting "maybe he finally killed himself" in a positive way felt Wrong, but...]
[The notion he'd just returned to his own existence outside of Aldrip sits like a stone in Akira's gut. Dazai was a relatively private person, but he'd have said something if it was intentional. Something silly, like "don't forget how to make piña coladas without me here to drink them!". So if he hadn't had any control over it...]
[The hand closest to Goro curls into a loose fist, so he doesn't reach out and take Goro's hand to soothe the anxious bubble in his chest.]
[Goro notices the change in Akira's posture. How could he not? It was like he had flipped a shift with just a mention of the name Osamu Dazai. Goro takes a deep breath, shoulders rising during the inhale and then relaxing back down when he exhales, long and hard through his nose.
It's understandable, though. Goro's not entirely sure how he felt about absence of Dazai himself. Publicly he hated the man and his existence. But alone in his mind? Who even knows. As much as he had grated on his nerves it'd be lie to say that he didn't have an impact on Goro. The way he'd call him out on his feelings, bring him booze and painkillers when he was bedridden with a fresh gunshot wound on his side, sit down and listen to him. Encourage him to see the thing with Akira through.
Biting on his lower lip, Goro moves his hand to place it on top of Akira's, an attempt to comfort the other.]
