[For the TV appearances, magazine shoots and whatnot. You know how much he cares about his appearance and to be pampered]

I see you're having withdrawal symptoms from Morgana already. [He clicks his tongue a bit and moves to sit down on one of the chairs in the room.] No coffee for your guest?

[He just grins, shrugging.] Could have fooled me.

[There's a brief second where his posture goes tense, only barely long enough for Goro to have noticed, but a definite clouding over of his otherwise cheeky disposition. He's glad for the reroute to coffee, and just makes a wordless little sound as he moves away from Goro to the kitchenette.] 's brewing, actually.

Good.

[Oh uh. The comment was originally meant as a joke, but when he sees the slight chance in Akira and realizes he might just hit something. Yeah. This is one of the areas of life he doesn't quite get.]

Out of all your teammates he seems like the most agreeable roommate. Aside the fur, that is.

[He's quiet, still, making Goro a mug of coffee and coming back over with it, holding it out without looking back up at him.]

...you probably think it's weird that I really miss him, so I haven't mentioned it.

Maybe. [He admits, taking the offered mug.] But you two were together for a long time, so I suppose it makes sense that you're missing his presence. But it's not something I can really relate to. You know that my experiences with sharing living space have not been the pleasant.

[Foster care sucked.]

[He nods, making a quiet sound.] I didn't think I'd like it, either. [His tone isn't annoyed or... much of anything, really, but he's talking significantly less, suddenly.]

His form most likely had something to do with it. [He shrugs and takes a sip of the freshly brewed coffee, humming approvingly at the taste. Akechi can't really imagine what living like with Morgana must have been like, as he was not your regular roommate or a pet.

Anyway, he takes note of Akira's silence. So, time to move to the topic that had been brought up briefly before he arrived here.] What would you think of it now, then?

[He smiles at that appraising little hum, knowing Akechi doesn't give praise easily. He moves back into the kitchen to pour himself a mug and wanders to sit on his bed, nodding toward the space left for Akechi to sit.]

...you mean with you, or with a pet?

I didn't know that's how you saw Morgana. [He huffs, trying to sound humorous. Then he takes another sip from his coffee before placing it on the table, giving Akira a rather serious look.]

I told you. There's a stranger in my room at the moment. She, did, say that they have a room prepared for her tomorrow night but there's no guarantee that this won't be happening again. Besides, my lock is broken and privacy compromised.

If this is how it's going to be I'd rather take my chances with you.

[chemex]

[He laughs faintly, shaking his head.] It's not, but it wouldn't be Morgana, here. He was in my bag, so... if he didn't come with me there must be some kind of reason.

[He smiles, then, drumming the pads of his fingertips on his mug.] You're always welcome here. It's..., [He frowns, staring into his mug a minute. Akechi might not like this particular statement, but... He's gonna say it anyway.] ...it's nice, to have you close, so I don't have to worry about if I've run out of time with you.

I suppose your crime was more grave than his. [Or whatever was the bullshit reason is behind their presence here.]

Hm. [Well, yes. Akira is right that he doesn't.. really care to hear such things. Because what is he supposed to say back to that? They both know that such time will eventually and everything will return back to 'normal'. At least, Akechi isn't going to stop looking for a way to out of this prison.

But he doesn't really want to talk about that right now, not yet. So instead he takes another look around the room. The layout is very similar to his own, maybe a square or two smaller? And if you think his eyes linger longer on the bed you're just imagining things.]

It's small. [He says eventually, giving his assessment. Then again, neither of them have too many belongings so it could be doable.] I heard that Chuuya-san and Dazai-san have two person room. I could try to see if the staff here would be willing to switch them.

If that is something you're alright with.

[He just nods, sipping at his coffee.]

If you don't mind it, I don't.

[Pause.

Oh. He actually kinda expected more? Questions, arguments or whatever. Having him agree to it so easily is well.. unexpected.]

Ah. No, I don't? I wouldn't have suggested it otherwise. [sorry, his brain is processing this. He looks down at his coffee and back at Akira.] Well, if you're sure I'll see what I can do about it tomorrow morning. Like I said, I don't have much experience when it comes to living with someone so you'll have to show me the ropes around it. Other than that I believe we need to go through some basic rules regarding the boundaries and respecting of each other's privacy. We tend to have habit to clash at times.

[Rambling? Yes.]

[He drums his fingers along his mug and waits for Goro to quiet, looking up and smiling faintly.]

I'm not much more experienced with living with anyone than you are, Morgana is kind of a special case. We can figure it out together?

I see. You're right, living with parents must be different than living with Morgana. [Or whatever it is that they are at this point. But he nods at Akira's last comment, going silent for a moment and drinks more of his coffee.]

Like I said, I don't mind you. Others are a different story.

...Oh, [He looks chastised, frowning at the floor for a moment.] It... probably doesn't help, but I feel like before living in Tokyo I was living more alone than in the attic, anyway.

Hmm.. [He hums into his coffee, curiously peering at Akira behind his cup. Now that he thinks of it, he really doesn't know much what his rival's life was before Tokyo, aside from the little facts such as hometown, name of the previous school and parents. But aside from all that? Akira's mystery to him.

Though considering just how easily they had just sent Akira away to live with someone they barely knew and without checking up on his living situation for almost a year says something about them..]

What is it like? [he asks.] To live with parents I mean.

[And Akira likes that just fine, really. He goes a bit out of his way to not tell people about his life before Tokyo. He shrugs his shoulders to the question, his posture pulling inward the way it always does when he's uncomfortable.]

Lonelier than the attic, by a lot.

I'm not surprised to hear that. The old-fashioned family unit is nothing but a ghost of a shadow in modern Japan. [Again, the most empathetic person out there. But he calls it as he sees it. Despite the overall family values being so high only a few have luxury to live through them.

But he can tell that Akira's not feeling too hot about the subject so he let's it go. Past isn't what they were discussing here earlier.]

One or two beds? [For them.]

[Akira just nods. He didn't like to speak poorly of his parents, despite knowing they shouldn't have had a son when he was nothing more than a status symbol for them, to be cast aside when he could no longer be used as a trophy for good grades, for achieving something. Talking about it made him nasty, because he'd turn the upset back on himself, reflexively-- clearly if he'd just been what they wanted him to be, none of this ever would have happened--]

[Goro's question pops the rain cloud of melodrama above his head and leaves him looking up, startled.] Huh?

[Akechi quietly groans to his coffee cup, shaking his head. Focus Akira!]

For us. How many beds should we get?

[Buddy you're the last person who gets to scold him about getting stuck in his head. Meekly, he drops his gaze to the floor with a quiet,] Oh.

...two? Maybe... if they have mattress covers here, we could get one to cover both, and push the two beds together. So it's nothing forced. [So Akechi can have space if he wants it, he doesn't say. Akira is pretty sure he would never want space-- he certainly never has, not from anyone he trusts. He laughs at himself, a moment later.] Is that childish?

[Meanwhile Akechi glances back towards the bedroom. It's more spacious than his own, so they definitely could fit two beds there if the inn were to provide an extra for them. If not, well.. They've gotten by with one so far.

But he'd definitely would prefer to have his own space.. Especially now that talking about logistics is making this decision feel more heavy and real.]

No. I'd like that. [He admits, turning his focus back on the dark coffee in his cup.]

So, [He starts, surprised by his own bashfulness.] I take it you want to keep continuing having an intimate relationship.

[He hums, smiling, and looks up at the slight change in the sobriety of the conversation, startled too by Akechi's bashfulness. He stares blankly for a long moment at the question, and his ears tinge pink in his wild mess of curls.]

[It's funny how he wants to do about just anything else than to sit here across Akira and look him into the eye. So he keeps his eyes fixated on the coffee, swirling it carefully around the cup a little. The memory of the last time still fresh on his memory -- or rather what was before it and after. Akira's tears, his own panic attack and clumsy confession. I like you. I don't want you to leave.]

I think I already said more than enough last time.
